This is the last page of the three page demo that shows you how to use the Link Series Program with a date.
Notice this page is named 030108.php to demonstrate the program changes to the next month when the last day of the previous month is reached.
Click [<== Prev] in the Link Series Program to go to the middle page of this demo which is named 022908.php. Notice the month changes from 03 to 02 and leapyear is recognized.
If you click [Next ==>] in the Link Series Program, you'll get a Page not Found error page. In that case, click [Next ==>] in the Link Series Program or click the Back icon in this Window to return to this page.

The information below shows you how to use the Link Series Program to search for a series of Webpages that use a date to differentiate the link address:
Counters are used more than dates to differentiate pages so the two previous pages are devoted to them.
Click on [<== Prev] in the Link Series Program to go to them.
Entering date information to search for Webpages that use date variables to differentiate Webpages is somewhat complex. So, I have used the top of these three demo pages to help you understand how the date works.
All click on references in this discussion are to the buttons in the Link Series Program.
Notice the date order is set to mdy (month, day, year) in the Link Series Program. After you have visisted all three pages of this demo, try changing the date order and click on [Set to New Values] and observe how the page name changes according to the date order you selected. If you click on [<== Prev] or [Next ==>] while having the wrong date order checked, you'll get a page not found message on the linked page. Click on [Set to Default Values] to get the date back to where it should be or click on [Clear All] to enter you own link information.
I have used the date as the file name for this demo. But, the date could just as easily be part of the link path as in:
http://nylons-porno.com/ph3000/032807/13.html - this was a valid address as of June 2008.
The date is a folder name in the link path in this case. You would set this up as follows:
Click [Clear All] first. Then enter the following information:
Prefix: http://nylons-porno.com/ph3000/
Suffix: /13.html
Select Use a date. - probably already selected by default.
Enter the date as follows: month 03 - day 27 - year 07 - notice the day is 27 not 28.
The day is always incremented or decremented when used in the link. So, set the day to the day before if you want to use [Next ==>] to link to the page or the day after if you want to use [<== Prev] to link to the page.
Put a check above mdy as the date order. - may be checked by default.
Click on [Next ==>] to link to the 28th - a valid page as of this writing.
Click on [<== Prev] several times until you get to pages 23 and 22 - valid pages as of this writing.
I can't guarantee this link will work because there's no way of knowing how long this Website will keep these pages active. As of this writing, the days 23, 24 and 28 were all valid thumbnail pages. I did not find any pages before the 23rd. There are probably more valid pages after the 28th. The pages in between those listed were not valid. When an invalid page is linked to, the address changes and the user is redirected to a 404 Error page in this instance. You can verify the address by comparing the Link Address in the Link Series page to the address in the address bar of the linkpage.
In other words, there are days that are skipped (no thumbnail pages). That is how I came to creating this program. It makes it easy to change to the next or previous page in a series and if it's invalid, all you have to do is click on [<== Prev] or [Next ==>] to continue.
Determining the date order can be tricky. Especially with a number such as 040608. Trial and error works best. But, before you use trial and error, verify the original address and date are valid so you're not wasting time on something that isn't going to work no matter what. The year is somewhat easy to recognize as it will be 08 or lower as of 2008 and it will usually be the last two numbers (USA sites) or the first two numbers (foreign sites). The year can be four digits. If the year is spelled out, include the month and year in the Prefix or Suffix and use the counter option instead.
I've found that Websites that use dates usually have a least one page a week. So, if you don't find anything in a week to 10 days, the series is probably exhausted in that direction.
When you're ready to use links you've found, click [Clear All], select Use a counter or Use a date. Enter the link information as described above and click [Set to New Values].
A clue to knowing there may be more pages in a series is a number that looks like it could be a date or a month spelled out in the address.
Be sure to click on [Set to New Values] any time you change any parameters or the changes won't take effect.
Remember, the count is always incremented or decremented when used in the link. So, set the count one lower if you want to use [Next ==>] to link to the page or one higher if you want to use [<== Prev] to link to the page.
