I am often asked to make pictures transparent for Webpages. Unfortunately, there is no way to make jpeg pictures transparent and gif images have to be reduced to 256 colors which degrades their quality. There is a little trick that can be applied to jpg pictures to make them appear transparent. Below is are two Lynda Carter examples.

Not all pictures can be cut out and be made to appear transparent with good results. When this happens, a compromise has to be made as the two examples below suggest:

A compromise has to be made to make Lynda's cutout appear transparent. A blue background is used below to mask the blue that came through from Lynda's original picture. This gives the desired results.	As you can see, the blue background from the original picture comes through too much to look good on this page's background. Both cutout pictures of Lynda Carter below are the same height and width.

Given the right background, Lynda and her feathers look like they belong.
